Bouldering" is perhaps the fastest-growing "hands-on" outdoor sport in the world. Don't even think of confusing it with mountain or rock climbing or you will be subjected to a verbal landslide of everything that sets these sports apart!

Kamp Klamath is the closest campground and RV park to the Lost Rocks. The "Lost Rocks" are situated on the beach adjacent to and south of the mouth of the Klamath River. Lost Rocks offer many different grades of bouldering "problems" (read "challenges"), drawing novices and "old pros" from around the world.

The Lost Rocks rise up from the volcanic beach sands and are flanked by the Redwood National Park which features a rain forest filled with Redwood, Sitka Spruce, Douglas Fir, Maple and Red Alder trees, sprinkled with ferns and wild flowers. Wide tidal swings and occasional winter storms reshape the sands surrounding these monster boulders, creating an ever-changing set of climbing challenges.

Kamp Klamath has become "Bouldering Headquarters" for Lost Rocks climbers. Beautiful wooded campsites, free clean bathrooms and hot showers, quiet privacy, internet access, public telephone, convenience store and reasonable rates [$18 per night], combine to draw climbers back to the Kamp again and again.

We are preparing a map the "Lost Rocks" our local bouldering opportunity. This series of bouldering sites and "problems" (read "challenges") is world-famous and has lured hundreds of climbers to Kamp Klamath from dozens on foreign nations.
