The Flint Ridge Trail is recognized as a one-of-a-kind opportunity to become immersed in an
Old Growth Redwood Forest as it existed before the arrival of non-native Americans. Flint Ridge is internationally acclaimed for its protrayal of Nature at Her natural best. No Giant Redwoods have fallen here to the merciless screams of a logger's chain saw. No towering Douglas Firs have collapsed here to the shattering blow's of the woodsman's ax. No wildlife or unique plant has been shouldered aside here by roads carved indelibly by metal monsters. It is as it was.

The Flint Ridge Trail is 4.5 miles (7.2k) in length, is rated as a Difficulty Class 6 and will take approximately 3 hours to hike. Beginning at its coastal trailhead, the hiker is escorted by massive ferns through giant Redwoods amidst a wooded chorus of Douglas Fir, Port Orford Cedar, Sitka Spruce, Maple and Red Alder. Rugged ridges with magnificent vistas of the Pacific Ocean alternate with richly-carpeted meadows. The trail plunges through numerous switchbacks to lilly-loaded Marshall's mill pond and its native inhabitants including frogs, ducks, geese and beaver. The trail ends at the remnant of the Douglas Memorial Bridge at the southerly tip of Kamp Klamath.

We have free walking maps and a "Suggested Take-Alongs List" at the Kamp Klamath office.
