Spring and Summer Workamping at Kamp Klamath
The rich tradition of Workamping is alive and well at Kamp Klamath.
Our Workamping program is recognized as a model in the industry. We have designed our system around the needs of our Workampers as well as the needs of the park and our guests. We value our Workampers as teammates in striving to maintain the highest possible level of customer service.
Kamp Klamath Workampers trade twenty-five hours of service each week for their RV site, electricity, water, sewer, cable TV, free WiFi and hot showers, free coffee and convenience store discounts. Workampers may also participate in the preparation and serving of our Summertime Saturday BBQ, enjoying a free meal.
Bonuses include harvesting rights from our hot houses and our 2,500 sq. ft. vegetable garden, plus free open-range eggs from our WorkChickens.
Among Workamper participation opportunities are:
COOK/CHEF - We have a commercial kitchen for our Saturday night BBQs, daily breakfasts, Taco Tuesday and more.
OFFICE/STORE - Answering phones, taking reservations, check-in, site escort, sales and stocking.
LANDSCAPING - Watering, lawn mowing, green house [seedling propagation], tending our vegetable garden, planting flowers and shrubs, weeding and trimming/pruning.

Comments:Upon arrival at Kamp Klamath we were warmly greeted with open arms. We had 2 small children that adored their 9 months at Kamp Klamath. We were Sabbath keeping Christians who were never asked to compromise our values for work or social time. We loved watching the new baby chickens grow and the ambiance of the river front on the back of the property! For my actual job I spent time splitting wood, tree trimming, mowing, gardening, small engine maintenance, cleaning and any odd job in which I was needed. The owner Aaron Funk would surprise us with random gifts, usually on holidays. Our time at Kamp Klamath came to a close because it was just time to go. But the work isn’t too hard and the wildlife and surrounding areas make it so difficult to leave! We even found a church in a nearby town we fell in love with Crescent City SDA Church.

Comments:My wife Rebecca and I were exploring RVing for the first time in July 2016. We were driving up the 101 and getting tired. I quickly researched for a camp ground where we could rest for the night. I discovered Kamp Klamath with a recently posted 5 star so I called and spoke to Rocky who was very friendly and helpful and said they had some space available. When we drove in we mistook the first campground as Kamp Klamath but soon discovered it was located further up the road. We arrived and were so impressed that we paid for a week. After about 3 days the office manager, Cathy asked us if we were interested in staying on for a while as work campers. After gaining a better understanding of our commitment and responsibilities we agreed to stay through Labor Day 2016. It was one of the most memorable experiences we have had while RVing. We stay in regular contact with some of the other work campers we met there as they are good people.

Comments:Wife and I have been to Kamp Klamath as guests and workampers 5 different times over the past 3yrs at different times of the year for lengths of stay up to 3 mos. We are not full timers but do RV extensively and have been to 100s of campgrounds in practically every state. We keep going back to this campground because we love it so much. The No Cal Coastal Redwoods are the best place in the US for us.

Comments:I came for a 3 month commitment and have now stayed over a year because I fell in love with this place and the area. I have worked in the office, done landscaping, equipment maintenance, worked in the garden and have learned a lot of new skills. The owner is quick to purchase / fix anything that needs attention. All the workampers spend time together to make this feel like a second family.
